  • YCRLAW continues to monitor the changing landscape for businesses and individuals caused by COVID-19.  We have compiled a Quick Reference Guide of recent orders regarding the status of the State of South Carolina, the City of Charleston, relevant Court Orders, and Miscellaneous South Carolina links.  We will update this Quick Reference Guide as necessary.  YCRLAW has been tested by more than a few hurricanes in our more than 50 years of practice, so we are lucky to have a business continuity plan in place which allows our lawyers and support staff to work remotely.  We are thankful for our clients, our employees, our community, and our loved ones.

  • Catherine H. Chase will be speaking on the topic of Substance Abuse and Competence: What Every Attorney Needs to Know at an upcoming continuing legal education seminar.

  • YCRLAW is pleased to announce that D. Jay Davis, Jr. (Professional Liability:  Defense), Carol B. Ervin (Employment and Labor), and Shawn Daughtridge Wallace (Employment and Labor) have all been named 2020 Super Lawyers.  Matthew O. Riddle (Workers Compensation) has been named as a rising star.

  • YCRLAW is pleased to announce that Matthew Harrison has joined the firm as an Associate Attorney. Prior to joining YCRLAW, Matt worked for a local civil defense law firm.  While in law school, he was a member of the South Carolina Law Review and served as the Chief Justice of the Mock Trial Bar. He was also one of fifteen law students chosen to join the John Belton O’Neall America Inn of Court.  He will be, primarily, a member of the Trucking and Transportation Practice Group.

  • YCRLAW is pleased to announce that Christian Fober has joined the firm as an Associate Attorney. Prior to joining YCRLAW, Christian clerked for the Honorable C. Weston Houck, U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina and then worked for a local defense firm.  While in law school, he served as the Technology and Marketing Editor of the Charleston Law Review.  He will be, primarily, a member of the Trucking and Transportation Practice Group.

  • YCRLAW is pleased to announce that Robert S. Dodds has joined the firm as Special Counsel.  Robert previously worked as a solo practitioner and has spent much of his career in assisting businesses with planning and taxation issues.  Robert holds an LL.M. in Taxation and will be, primarily, a member of the Business, Insurance, Real Estate and Regulatory Matters Practice Group.

  • YCRLAW is pleased to announce that James D. “Tripp” Gandy, III has joined the firm as Special Counsel. Prior to joining YCRLAW, Tripp was a solo practitioner.  He has a wide range of experience in the practice of law, including insurance defense in State and Federal Courts, family law, and estate planning. Tripp will be, primarily, a member of the Professional Liability Practice Group.

  • YCRLAW is pleased to announce that Victoria L. Anderson and Nicholas J. Rivera have recently been named partners at YCRLAW.  Tori practices primarily in Trucking and Transportation, and Nick practices mainly in Construction Law.  Congratulations to Tori and Nick!

  • YCRLAW attorneys delivered presents for a family of 6 recently placed in housing via One80 Place. We are excited to bring this family some holiday cheer this Christmas!
